Dr Ashley Smit is originally from Kansas. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. After graduation she completed a rotating small animal internship in New Mexico and worked with small and exotic animals in private practice for 5 years in Minneapolis, MN. She started her career in Clinical Toxicology with Pet Poison Helpline in 2017 and became a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Toxicology in 2022. She resides in Minneapolis with her hound mix Barkley. In addition to veterinary toxicology, she enjoys live music, cycling, gardening, exploring the great outdoors, and watching college sports. 

Dr. Caitlin Neu

Dr. Caitlin Neu is originally from the Chicago suburbs. She graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She worked in general practice in the Chicago area while finishing her Master of Public Health in 2016. She then moved to San Diego for a few years, continuing to work in general practice. She moved back to central Illinois and spent a year working for USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service before joining the ASPCA Poison Control in 2019. She became a diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology in 2023. She currently lives in Illinois and has two cats, Arya and Sansa, and a redtick coonhound named Russell.

Dr. Susan Holland

Dr. Susan Holland graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She worked in clinical veterinary practice including equine/ small animal and emergency medicine for 30 years. In 2016 she joined Pet Poison Helpline where she continues to enjoy collaborating with her wonderful coworkers and consulting with both veterinarians and pet owners. Dr Holland became a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) in 2021. She and her husband are long-time residents of coastal North Carolina and she spends her free time gardening, baking, and reading.
